Popcorn News - Tuesday’s Troop meeting is the LAST chance to turn in your popcorn order forms at a regular meeting.
If you would like more time to sell, Mr. Gryder will be at the Scout Hut Sunday November 1 between 2pm and 4pm to receive your order forms. All order forms must be turned in by Sunday afternoon!
Popcorn Pickup - Our Pocpcorn pickup will be on Friday evening, November 13.
A Friday evening pickup is necessary this year because the Troop will be leaving on a backpacking trip on Saturday morning . Please make a note of this on your family calendar.
Swine Flu - One of the Scouts from our Troop who attended this weekend's Piedomnt District SuvivorMan Camporee has tested positive for the Swine Flu.
Please be observant of any symptons and, of course, take the necessary precautions.

District Camporee – The following Scouts have signed up for the Piedmont District Camporee, which is this weekend of (Oct. 23-25).
Scouts: Will H., Noah B., Lucas B., Ben E., Tanner P., Avery C., Lyle G., Josh J., Andy N., Alexander Z., Gabriel H., Ben G., Evan L., Chris W., Riley B.
Adults: Mike Warner, Jay Harmel, Bill Brewer, Jimmy Holder and John Burgiss.
Menu planning for this weekend's campout will be at Tuesday's meeting. If you are going on this campout, it's important for you to attend Tuesday's meeting.
We will be meeting at the Scout Hut on Friday (Oct. 23) at 5:30 p.m. to load gear and depart for this event and will be returning around lunch on Sunday. Scouts should eat dinner before arriving at the Scout Hut.
Popcorn News - Mr. Gryder and Mrs. Neely have the following news to share:
We have had an incredible start to the 2009 Popcorn fundraiser. Nine boys filled up 10 total forms during the Blitz week, and, the prizes are in! We will recognize these scouts and present the prizes at Tuesday's meeting.
Troop 919 also had a winner of the weekly council drawing. Chris W. will be getting an IPOD touch! Way to go!
If you have filled up an order form, be sure to bring it with you Tuesday and give it to Mr. Gryder or Mrs. Neely so you can be entered into the drawings for future weeks.
Eagle Scout Project - Tyler F. has scheduled an Eagle Scout Project workday for Saturday, Oct. 24 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) at Maple Springs United Methodist Church. As second workday is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31.
Scouts will be constructing a 2-rail split-rail fence around Maple Springs' community garden. The fence will help to keep deer and other animals from eating the garden's produce.
Maple Springs Methodist Church is located on Reynolda Road. Lunch will be provided.
Community Projects - Scouts from Troop 919 have been asked to help at Pack 918's Trunk or Treat on Monday, OCt. 26 and at Brookwstown Methodist on Friday, Oct. 30. Chris and Noah will have more info on these projects at Tuesday's meeting.
Adult Leader Training - Boy Scout Outdoor Leader Skills training will be offered at Camp Raven Knob on October 24-25. The training will take place at the Kyle Johnson shelter, which is near our summer campsite!
Outdoor Leader Skills is a must for all Boy Scout leaders to be considered fully trained. The training includes first aid, cooking, knots, plant/animal identification and more.
The cost of the course is $25 for those who register at the Scout office by October 20 and $35 for leaders registering after Oct. 20. For more info, e-mail kmkeene_2000@yahoo.com.
