Popcorn Kickoff - Our popcorn kickoff meeting will be on Tuesday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Brookstown United Methodist Church.
All Scouts (and one parent) should attend this meeting to learn about this year's popcorn sale.
The annual popcorn sale is our Troop's only fund raiser and we depend heavily on your popcorn sales to fund our Troop activities and pay for the upkeep and maintenance of our Scout Hut.
The proceeds from our popcorn sale fund our camping trips, provide camperships, purchase equipment (like those expensive backpacking tents), Troop t-shirts, camping and summer camp supplies and much, much more.
The popcorn sale begins on Oct. 1 and continues through the entire month of October.
The Porcorn Blitz is 10 days, covering two weekends! All Scouts who fill a take order sheet during the Blitz will be invited to the Wake Forest Sports Spectacular!

OA Ordeal - Troop 919 Scouts who were tapped into the Order of Arrow during Summer Camp have the choice of completing their Ordeal the weekend of August 21-23 or August 28-30 at Camp Raven Knob. If you are planning on attending the Whitewater Rafting trip, please plan accordingly!
I think we heard that most Scouts planned to complete their Ordeal the weekend of August 21-23 as a group. Refer the OA brochure you received when you were called out for more information on the Oredal, including a list of the items you should bring to your Ordeal.
Check-in begins at 7:00 p.m. and all candidates must be registered by 8:30 p.m. Registration will be in the dining hall.
Ordeal members can be picked up around 10 a.m. on Sunday. However, as a new member of the OA, you might consider attending the Executive Committee meeting that will follow your orientation. All OA members are invited to the Wahissa Lode #118 Exec Committee meetings.
Board of Review - The Troop Committee will be available at the Scout Hut on Thursday, August 13 for any Scout who needs a rank advancement Board of Review in advance of our August Court of Honor. The Troop Committee will be available, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
All rank advancement requirements must be completed before going to your Board of Review, including your Scoutmaster Conference.
I will be available on Tuesday for Scoutmaster Conferences.
Troop Picnic and Court of Honor - Our annual family picnic and Court of Honor will be on Tuesday, August 18 in the Brookstown United Methodist CHurch pavilion.
The Troop will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs and Troop families will be providing side dishes, deserts and drinks. Remember to discuss with your Patrol at Tuesday's meeting what you should bring to the picnic.
Plans are to begin eating at 6:30 p.m. We also understand this is the same night that some Middle schools may be holding their open house. The school open houses typically begin around 5:30 p.m. and Scouts are urged to attend their open house early and make their way to the Troop picnic quickly.
Following the picnic, we will be conducting our August Court of Honor and celebrating your success from over the summer.
