Court of Honor - We will be holding our February Court of Honor on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Brookstown United Methodist Church.

We will have a special Friends and Family of Scouting presentation at Tuesday's Court of Honor and will appreciate our Troop's family attendance at this program.

At the conclusion of the presenation, each Scouting family will be given the opportunity to support Scouting with their personal financial contribution. The financial support that Old Hickory Council receives each year through the Friends and Family of Scouting pledges help keep our local Scouting fees at a modest rate so that all youth can enjoy the experience the Scouting program offers.

When compared with the cost of some of the other programs our youth are involved in today, Scouting is an excellent bargin.

Please ask your family to make a special effort to attend Tuesday's program.

All Scout families are asked to bring drinks and snacks for the fellowship time following Tuesday's Court of Honor.

Re-Chartering - If you have not paid your 2009 fee, please bring your money to Tuesday's Court of Honor. Mr. Hough or Mr. Wilhelmi will be there and ready to accept your payment. We will be preparing our re-charter with the council this week and appreciate all Scouts and leaders taking care of this important task promptly.

The re-chartering is $22 if you subscribe to Boy's Life and $10 if you do not receive Boy"s Life. The adult re-chartering fee is $10.

If you are a member of the Order of the Arrow and have not paid your OA dues, please pay your OA dues so you can remain an active member in Wahissa Lodge #118. OA dues are $10 if you are an active member and $20 if you are behind in your obligation to the Lodge.

Next Camoing Trip - Our next Troop camping trip will be the Wilderness Survival trip to Camp Raven Knob, March 20-21.

Summer Camp - It's also time to register for summer camp at Raven Knob. We have to submit an initial registration to Raven Knob by March 10 and you can make your summer camp reservation Tuesday.

REMINDERS

Scouting For Food

We will be meeting at the Scout Hut at 10 a.m. on Saturday to return to local neighborhood to pick up those Scouting For Food bags our neighbors have filled with canned goods and other non-perishable foods.

  • If you help deliver bags or were a driver last week we hope you will return this week to help with the pick-up.
  • If you weren't able to help last week with the bag delivery, we hope you can help this week with the bag pick-up.
  • If you are in search of service hours for rank advancement, we hope to see you on Saturday morning.

We will be donating our food this year to the food pantry at Maple Springs United Methodist Church.

And following the Scouting for Food bag pick-up, plan to spend a couple hours at the Scout Hut so we can tidy things up a bit. We don't have any major projects planned for our annual Scout Hut Workday, but do need to spend some time spring cleaning our meeting place.

We'll order some pizza for lunch and will hopefully be completed by 1:00 or so.

Scout Sunday

We hope all Troop 919 families will be able to join us as we attend worship service at Olivert Moravian Church on Sunday to celebrate Scout Sunday with our chartered organization partner.

Let's have a great turnout to show Olivet how much we appreciate them!

The following Scouts have volunteering to take part in Sunday's Service:

Color Guard: Chris W., Paul L., Josh J.
Ushers: Andrew C., Evan L., Jeffrey S., Jim L., William B.
Scripture Readers: Danner W., Logan E.
Offering Prayer: Chris W.
