Parents are invited too!

We didn't mention that Scouts and parents are invited to Tuesday night's Troop meeting. In fact, parents are encouraged to attend!

The topic of this meeting will be a discussion and presentation on High Adventure trip opportunities offered by the Boy Scouts, including Philmont, Florida Sea Base and Northern Tier.

As a Troop we have been very fortunate to take three crews to Philmont over the past five years. Philmont is the ultimate backcountry Scouting high adventure experience and anyone who has been on a Philmont expedition will probably tell you that it was an experience they will never forget.

For several years we have also "kicked around the idea" of an expedition to the BSA's Florida Sea Base or canoeing through the Northern Tier. If there is adequate interest in this kind of trip, we would like to add a water-based trip to our Troop's high adventure calendar.

Parents will enjoy hearing about these high adventure opportunities as much as the Scouts will. Hopefully you will be able to join us on Tuesday evening!

Tuesday night's Troop meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Brookstown Methodist Church.
