Council Camporee and Popcorn Orders Due

Council Camporee

We will be meeting at the Scout Hut at 5 p.m. on Friday to load our Troop and personal gear for this weekend's Old Hickory Council Camporee at the Wilkes County Airport in North Wilkesboro.

Scouts should eat dinner before arriving at the Scout Hut.

Don't forget to consult your Scout book when packing for this trip. It's Fall and you are heading to the North Carolina mountains, which means the weather can change and there is a good possibility of cool mornings and evenings.

Think 10 essentials.....layers and rain gear!

We should be arriving back at the Scout Hut around noon on Sunday and will call on the way back with a more definite pick up time.

POPCORN

Several Scout turned in their popcorn sales sheets at Tuesday's meeting.

This weekend is the absolute deadline to turn in your popcorn order forms with Saturday being the last day to sell popcorn.

Marshall Foster, Troop 919's popcorn kernel, has agreed to be at the Scout Hut several times over the weekend to accept your final order forms.  Marshall be at the Scout Hut at the following times:

  • Friday (Oct. 24) at 5 p.m. when the Troop meets to leave for the Council Camporee
  • Sunday (Oct. 26) at about noon or when the Troop returns from the weekend camping trip.
  • Sunday (Oct. 26) at 4 p.m.  This is the final time to turn in your popcorn sales sheet! Mr. Foster has to turn in the final order to the council on Sunday afternoon. Please don't make him have to track you down!

Thanks to everyone in the Troop for all of the effort you put into selling popcorn, which, did I mention, funds most of our Troop activities (like this weekend's Camporee).

And a special thanks to Marshall for all of his hard work in our Troop's annual popcorn fund raiser.
