Brent Patterson, a Troop 919 Eagle Scout, has been nominated and elected as a recipient for the highest award that is given to a member of the Order of the Arrow, the VIGIL HONOR.

The youth members of Wahissa Lodge bestowed this honor upon Brent for his past service to the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouting, Camp Raven Knob and his willingness to serve our country. Brent is a Private First Class in the United States Army and will be reporting to his next duty station, Hawaii, soon.

Brent was "tapped" in a surprise ceremony at his home in Winston-Salem on Sunday afternoon by the Vigil Chief of Wahissa Lodge

The Vigil Honor is usually presented at Raven Knob during the summer camp season, but since Brent is leaving for active duty in about a week, Wahissa Lodge wanted to honor Brent before he reported for duty.
