Our annual family picnic and Court of Honor is Tuesday at 6 p.m in the picninc shelter at Brookstown United Methodist Church. Steve Smith and his family have generously agreed to furnish the hamburgers and hot dogs again this year, Troop will be doing the cooking and we are counting on the Scout families to provide the side dishes, drinks and deserts. The Patrols are asked the bring the following:
Flying Squirrels - Side Dishes
Raven Patrol - Side Dishes
Cola Bears - Drinks
Venture Patrol - Drinks
Ugly Ducklings - Deserts
This is usually our biggest Court of Honor of the year and many Scouts will be receiving rank advancements and merit badges on Tuesday, so be sure to bring you family to help you celebrate your accomplishments and enjoy our picnic!
Troop Elections - Troop Elections will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2. If you think you have an interest in running for Senior Patrol Leader you must schedule a Scoutmaster Conference before Sept. 1. No Scout will be approved to run for SPL without having completed the Scoutmaster Conference.
Popcorn Meeting - We will be holding our popcorn kickoff meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Brookstown United Methodist Church. Troop 919 Popcorn Kernel Marshall Foseter reminds all Troop 919 Scouts to attend this meeting to learn about this year's popcorn sale. We would also like atleast one parent from each Scout family to attend this important meeting.
The annual Boy Scout popcorn sale is our Troop's only fundraiser and the money our Troop generates from your popcorn sales enables our Troop to fund our outdoor camping program, pay for our equipment and to pay for the upkeep on our Scout Hut.
Spelunking Trip - Our crowd was light, but the Scouts who took part in this weekend's spelunking trip had a great weekend. Many thanks to Bill Swart, Mike Warner, David Jacobius and Matt Zimmermann for their adult leadership on this trip and to Jim Pierson for making all of the advance arrangements, including our campsites at Camp Luterock.
